COURSE SUMMARY

The 8-day course in Cantabria is organized by the PASOS project “Permanent Benefits for adults in rural areas” (2023-1-LV01-KA122-ADU-000115625), and its aim is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of permaculture, environmental principles. management skills and business skills. The aim of the program is to help participants deal with current global issues while promoting sustainable development in rural areas. This course is an exploration of the principles of permaculture, guidelines for sustainable living and land use. Participants will delve into concepts such as regenerative agriculture, ecosystem design and resource conservation to gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to implement sustainable practices in their communities.

In addition to environmental management, the course also emphasizes the importance of permaculture in the fight against climate change. Participants will also participate in discussions and hands-on exercises focusing on permaculture-specific tools and techniques to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve carbon sequestration and mitigate the effects of climate change. In addition, they will learn how to become active in the environmental movement and become agents of change in their local communities and beyond.

The program also places a strong emphasis on business skills and project management. Participants will gain practical knowledge on the development and implementation of sustainable European programs with a focus on fostering creativity, cooperation and innovation. From project planning to team building, participants gain the skills needed to turn their sustainability vision into practical initiatives that benefit their local communities.

By the end of this course, participants will be informed about permaculture principles and equipped with the knowledge, skills and motivation to create positive change in their communities. By actively participating in environmental movements and entrepreneurship, they will play a crucial role in creating a more sustainable and resilient future for rural areas.

INTERNAL WORKSHOP

After returning from the project in Spain, in June, the participants organized hands-on demonstrations of the new techniques and tools they learned during their mobility. They shared this knowledge with the rest of the staff and other stakeholders, building on the insights gained from the Erasmus+ project. This approach ensured sustainability and ongoing community involvement. The initiative was well-received, and the impact on the organization is expected to be significant in the future.
